early this summer josh skolnick convinced my 71 yr old mother to allow him to park a crane in her driveway to remove a fallen tree from the yard next door, he did not tell her it was a 40 ton crane, only when we, they tore up her driveway. after months of calling part of the damage was adressed, then we were ignored, a brick pathway was also damaged and josh will not fix it!

it is dangerous but that does not seem to matter to josh who is more intrested in taking vacations than fufulling his obligations! do not trust his word!

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monster Tree Service Response

In late summer of 2015, a tree fell onto the home of our client, who was the neighbor of this posterโ€™s mother. A crane was necessary to lift the tree off the house.

The clientโ€™s home did not have a driveway and the client asked their neighbor if they could use her driveway due to the emergency situation. Josh Skolnick was on the property at the time of the initial estimate and, at the request of the neighbor, provided photos of the crane so she would understand the size of the equipment. The neighbor gave our client permission to allow Monster Tree Service to use her driveway for removal of the tree that was on their home. Following completion of the job, the neighborโ€™s son contacted us to complain that we had damaged the driveway.

We immediately responded on the same day as his complaint and inspected the damage. It was determined that all damage pre-dated the use of the crane and was caused by the repeated or prolonged parking of a vehicle on the driveway. Tire impressions on the driveway were from tires on a passenger vehicle, which we measured with the homeownerโ€™s son to show it was too narrow to be caused by the oversized width of a crane. Despite this, he continued to allege that our crane caused the damage.

To avoid an issue between the neighbors, we hired a paving company to repair the driveway, as a courtesy. We also repaired the brick pathway that had naturally settled over the years by sending a crew to lift, level and replace the 2โ€™ x 6โ€™ brick pathway; again as a courtesy.

Despite all efforts to resolve the issues with this poster, he continued to demand that Monster Tree Service replace the entire driveway, which it refused to do since it was not responsible for the pre-existing damage.

Sounds to me like the company is trying to get out paying for all the damage they caused. As for the clients home not having a driveway...

I call Bool Sheet on that. The client had to have had someway and some place to park their vehicle(s). The company should have put the crane in the clients yard if it couldn't be put in their own driveway. As for the vehicle tire marks on the destroyed driveway...

I'm sure there were some from auto tires. It's kind of hard not to leave marks when the driveway is busted up by a crane and mud is everywhere.

It's a bad situation when a company takes advantage of a 71 year old woman and cost her money she probably couldn't afford to repair the damage. DISGUSTING.
